i am constantly changing my nail polish color depending on outfit, mood, or inspiration. since i always do this i've ended up with a collection that i've worked on building up, and one that i've become very happy with. from accumulating different polishes, i've come up with my favorites from different brands along with looks that i love - favorite nail polishes: butter london, essie, opi, chanel, revlon favorite colors: butter london tea with the queen butter london union jack black butter london hen party butter london british racing green butter london old bill essie neon colors essie nude beach essie sand tropez essie sweet talker opi prussian navy revlon fast drying polishes there are a few others, but i can't remember! - essie has great color range, and the brush is a bit smaller which is easier to wield. opi has fun names, a lot of colors, but sometimes i have issues with the brush dispensing too much polish. i honestly think my favorite brand has to be butter london. it's a bit expensive, but i love the results. - favorite nail combinations: a pastel color on all your nails such as a light pink, with a neon color on one finger of each hand as an accent color. light pink looks great with hot pink, peach with bright orange, etc. nude nails with an accent color of silver or gold glitter on each ring finger. these days nail art and experimentation is huge, but it's nice to just have a basic manicure. i love a basic nude manicure with butter london's tea with the queen. go dark with a metallic emerald, navy or a matte jet black. it looks sophisticated and with a bit of nail polish remover to clean up your cuticles, is easy to accomplish. a reverse french manicure is another fun look. go for a frosted champagne or nude color on your nails and for the french manicure part, try a bronze color. i like the ombre look when it comes to glitter polish! start with a white base and blue glitter. concentrate the most glitter at the top of your nail and then drag the brush down to distribute some of the glitter. do the same with nude and gold glitter. paint your nails in a mossy green or sage green. finish it off with a coat of gold glitter polish. don't go on a glitter overload though! try a black or navy manicure with white polka dots. totally chic, but fun at the same time!

boyfriend by best coast - this was literally the easiest look ever, but in person it was so "sexy" if that's the right word haha - products used: mac carbon (matte black) rimmel eye kohl in black buxom lash mascara lancome rich cashmere lipstick - line your upper lashes and lower lashes with carbon and smudge. extend the shadow into your inner corner and blend into the crease. keep blending it out so it has a cat shape. if you need more black just use a little bit and blend well in the socket for the right hint of smokiness. line your waterline and inner corner with the kohl. finish off with mascara. top it with a nude silky lipstick. - enjoy!! giveaway coming soon!

http://thebeautydepartment.com/2012/06/mani-monday-11/ - all credit is given to the beauty department! - i saw this post recently on tbd, and absolutely loved it. it looked so simple, and pretty which meant i had to try it out. supplies needed: fine gold glitter (martha stewart) regular gold glitter (michael's kids glitter) gold pigment (mac gold mode pigment) revlon top coat - choose any glitter colors you want and a pigment. i stuck with the gold theme, but next time i may do turquoise and gold! measure out an equal part of each glitter/pigment. make a little paper cone and put in the opening of the top coat bottle. pour each substance in one at a time, and then rotate the bottle to mix all three together. i painted all my nails except for my ring finger with the gold polish and then painted the ring a neon pink. - once again thanks to tbd for the amazing tutorial!

ho hey by the lumineers - http://mylifeinlipstick.com/2012/07/06/patriotic-pullover/ (full tutorial here!) - one thing i love to do is anything diy. if i see something i love and i know i can make something like it for a lot less or i see something i love and want to make something inspired by it i go for it. i saw this american flag picture on tumblr a while ago and saved it, knowing i'd make something out of it in the future. this t-shirt is what i came up with it. i plan on wearing it as a beach coverup because i got a t-shirt (for $3!!!) that was two sizes two big. next i cut off the sleeves and collar and started painting away. i absolutely love it! - more projects and beauty tutorials coming up soon! if you have any tutorial or diy requests just let me know!

born to die by lana del rey - yes, the song seems a little anti-patriotic, but if you watch the video there are definitely touches of the old red, white and blue! i wanted to do a look that was an american classic: a 1940's pinup girl and then add a fun touch for those who wanted something more creative: a burst of fireworks! - products used: urban decay naked palette clarins liquid liner lancome hypnose drama mascara ardell 301 lashes light blue and navy eyeliner (urban decay) light blue and navy glitter liner revlon ravish me red lipstick mac carbon eyeshadow rimmel soft kohl liner in black - begin by applying virgin all over your lids. next use your ring finger to apply sin to the center of your lids. blend buck and naked into your crease. line your upper lashline with liquid liner and wing out. line your lower lashline with mac's carbon. line the outer third of your waterline with rimmel soft kohl in black. curl your lashes, apply mascara and apply false lashes if you'd like! apply ravish me red to your lips (i adore this color!) if you want a touch of some festive fun, use colored eyeliners to draw some fireworks. follow the photos for guidance! finish it off with some glitter and you're good to go! - enjoy!!
